SUMMARY:Left Tok, Alaska early morning. I mistakenly thought the bad roads were behind me. Nope! After driving over an old bridge with a wooden floor and seeing the Alaska pipeline in huge pipes above the ground, the construction area started again! Long waits, long drives over packed dirt with stones. Really rough roads for miles. Finally got to North Pole, Alaska; what a perfect break in the day. Let’s pretend it is Christmas at Santa Claus’s house and the bad roads do NOT exist. I took pictures of every nativity set for one of my sisters, and enjoyed seeing everything representing Christmas, including a section made by people in Alaska. Well worth the visit. I arrived at Rivers Edge RV Park in Fairbanks. Took a walk around the park. The staff were great here; the showers were awesome. A quiet place to stay for two nights!
