SUMMARY:I completed RV duty this morning at Rivers Edge RV Campground, including emptying gray and black tanks, filling fresh tank with filtered water, and then washing my van. Cost was $5.00 to use heavy hoses ending in a brush with pressure water to scrub the entire van; then another $5.00 to use a pressure washer to rinse the entire van. What a job! I had to change clothes after that job! Then I drove to Denali Rainbow Village RV Park and Motel located at Mile 238.6, across the highway from the Princess Denali Hotel. It started raining five minutes after I completely dried my van with a special cloth! It rained the entire time until I arrived at the RV Park, which is located immediately behind the store fronts, so it has been fun to walk into art galleries, little stores, etc. One shopkeeper told me they can’t open their stores until May, and they have to close by the end of September. This storekeeper lives in Fairbanks and loves living in Alaska. Amazing place. Just hoping the rain and fog disappear by morning so I can photograph Mount Denali!

It was a busy morning in Fairbanks at the River’s Edge RV Park. Emptied gray and black tanks, filled fresh tank with water, and then completely washed my RV with pressure brushes and pressure wash hoses at the park. $5.00 for each process. I was soaked, but the van really looked great after 41 days of travel. I was taking pictures of the dinner plate dahlias in front of the office when the manager came out. She was so happy I liked the dahlias and offered to take one with me, but I couldn’t do that. They were so beautiful, and I told her I wanted other campers to enjoy them. Then I drove from Fairbanks to the Denali Rainbow Village RV Park in Nenana. What a great spot in the back of the store fronts! It is easy to walk to all the art shops and little food spots. Everything was very expensive, but it is always nice to get food near by when I don’t feel like cooking. The photographs in these stores were awesome, as were the crafts. I got some cookie cutters and towels to embroider during the winter! The owner said she lived in Fairbanks but lived upstairs in her building. She opens in May and closes before the end of September. This little town is one mile away from the entrance to Denali National Park and Preserve.
