Today I drove up to Exit Glacier. There were signs along the road showing where the glacier was found and how much it has receded in years gone by. These glaciers are certainly short lived, and the human race is causing this speedy recession. I kept wondering the whole time I was in Alaska what was going to happen to all of the beautiful glacier lakes totally fed by melting glaciers. They will most certainly disappear, which is very sad indeed. My visit to Kenai Fjords National Park was so delightful. Since I was still recovering from a bad cold, I didn’t hike up the 1-5 miles to get a closer look at the glacier. Walking along the Two Lakes Waterfront was so delightful. Tlways a sense of peace when I am by blue water and seagulls who let everyone know this is their domain!
