The next morning I left early and drove 214 miles to Tok, where I again had a reservation at the Sourdough Café and Campground! But this time the Café was closed, and I was one of very few campers staying overnight. The drive through Mentasta Lake was awe inspiring! The Fall colors in all of these mountains and the fall colors below were very pleasing when captured on my Nikon camera. What a treat! The Tok campground was the perfect place to get two loads of wash done and prepare psychologically for the really bad road I was going to have to travel the next day!
